The Mayan Prophecy on 2012.
We've all heard the infamous prophecy that the world will eventually end in 2012. Right? Who started the rumor? & Why did they specifically choose this year out of all years? Since we have finally reached year 2012, i thought it would be interesting for you to know the story behind this Mayan prophecy.
I do not believe any of this, but merely sharing it for the purpose of hopefulness- that the world would truly transform into a better place- at least for our children & future generations.
First to clear the misunderstanding, when contemplating the expression "end of the world" The Mayans have not meant the world will actually come to an end i.e destruction of Earth. The term "world" can refer to a cycle; a period of time; a world age era. To the Mayans 2012 is signalling the completion of one World Age Cycle, transitioning into an emerging New World Age to come.
It is said that the world we are ending is the one that is dominated by materialism and ego consciousness, therefore it may be that the world to come will hold different values that honor the spirit of the interdependence of all of life.
Carlos Barrios, Mayan elder and Ajq’ij (a ceremonial priest and spiritual guide) initiated an investigation into the different Mayan calendars circulating to widen his scope of knowledge.
He says “We are no longer in the World of the Fourth Sun, but we are not yet in the World of the Fifth Sun. This is the time in-between, the time of transition. As we pass through transition there is a colossal, global convergence of environmental destruction, social chaos, war, and ongoing Earth Changes.” Says Carlos “Humanity will continue, but in a different way. Material structures will change. From this we will have the opportunity to be more human."
At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the Earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration. The Mayans believe this process has already begun. Change is accelerating now and it will continue to accelerate.
When we contemplate what the world might be like beyond 2012, no one can predict the specifics of how things will actually be, whether the transformations to come will emerge- gradually or swiftly.
Everything depends on how conscious we can become as a species, and how we all contribute to this process of awakening our own potential, our collective consciousness, and the possible breakthroughs which can actually unfold through our human wisdom, resourcefulness, & knowledge.

Glamorous Duster Coats Spotted in this Year's Fall runways.
Spotted these gorgeous all-the-way-to-the-floor coats on the runway.
These duster coats look impossibly glam, especially when paired with the textured, filmy separates as shown on the runways of L.A.M.B., Theyskens' Theory, Rodarte, & Doo.Ri.
